Do not confuse this with Joan Crawford’s ‘47 classic, the Oscar nominated role that has became one of Joan’s defining pictures. Only an actress who’s career spanned 6 decades can play in two pictures, in two different decades with the same title. (BTW, in case you’re wondering “Possessed” from 1947 is mighty better with a totally different situation.) In 1931 Joan stared in 4 major motion pictures, (3 with Clark Gable) and “Possessed” was certainly the one that cemented them in history as one of the most beloved and engrossing movie couples. Because they each had such a respectable endearment and chemistry in this recount. “Possessed” follows the standard Joan Crawford/MGM tale…Pretty girl meets aesthetic boy, doesn’t know what to do about her past;in the slay finds happiness… But this represent is especially memorable because MGM teams Joan with Clark Gable. They were always magical to behold together. They both always lit up the shroud, because anyone could jabber that when Joan looked into Clark Gable’s eyes she had fire in hers. Joan’s brief comments on the making of this film: Benefit with Clark, both of us in strong parts, spacious reviews. Clearance Brown again, thank God. The movie also reminds me of “The Bride Wore Red” (another of Joan’s classics) because Marian (Joan’s character) decides to reinvent herself as a woman of society to lure her man into her web; she doesn’t want anyone to pick up out her proper identity because if they do they will search for that she was honest a shopgirl who had nothing but a delicate face and a kind heart. “Possessed” will divulge you that Joan Crawford can never rape the willing.

1981 was The Year of the Werewolves…the furry fiends leaped onto movie screens in three major films: “The Howling,” “Wolfen,” and the classic of the genre, “An American Werewolf in London.” There has never been a greater werewolf film, there has never been a better transformation scene, and few fear movies can match the gripping mixture of humor and scares that writer/direction John Landis (”Animal House,” “The Blues Brothers”) achieved here.Although there had been humor in awe films before this movie, “An American Werewolf in London” showed once and for all that having comedy in a scare film didn’t mean that the film would lose out in the fright department. Landis makes it certain that the film is NOT a comedy — the scare scenes are carried with dead-seriousness and ugly impact — but there is so noteworthy quirky humor surrounding these scenes that the film becomes incredibly likable and buoyant. Most of the laughs arrive from seeing the old-fashioned movie werewolf premise dropped into the fresh day and watching the characters try to deal with it.Actors Griffin Dunne and David Naughton, neither of whom had been in a movie before, invent a extraordinary ‘ordinary guy’ feeling to their characters of two young American boys backpacking through Europe. In rural England, they have a rotten encounter with a legendary monster, and Naughton faces the consequences of being bitten when he returns to London and takes up living with a handsome nurse (Jenny Agutter) .Buy,Download, Or Stream American Werewolf in London Special Edition! Click HereThe transformation scene is justly distinguished and a milestone in visual effects. Make-up wizard Rick Baker lets the viewers spy a real-time twisting of a human body into a wolf shape: limbs stretch, snouts pop, hair grows, the body contorts…it’s astonishing to peruse. (And on DVD, you can inspect it over and over and over again) . Even computer graphics can’t execute an attain as startling as this one. This DVD offers some nice extras. The image is obedient, and the 5.1 Surround Sound is decent (although there’s not a lot of abet speaker sound) . Actors Naughton and Dunne do feature commentary on the film, and provide some gripping information and sound as if they were having a broad time reliving the experience. I wish that Landis had been on the commentary as well, but you can hear his thoughts on the film in an 18-minute interview. Landis is an absolute hoot to listen to; the guy is as comic as his movie, and he absolutely bursts with ideas and observations. To go along with the Landis interview is an 11-minute interview with make-up maestro Rick Baker. He provides a absorbing scrutinize at crafting what he calls “the coolest werewolf film ever made.” Also included is a vintage featurette on the making of the film, although it’s only about five minutes long (but you salvage more of wise-cracking John Landis), ten minutes of archival footage of Baker making a cast of David Naughton’s hand, and an assortment of storyboards, outtakes, and production photos.”An American Werewolf in London” is a major turning point in alarm films and visual effects — and even over twenty years later, it is aloof one of the most sharp movies of its decade. It hasn’t conventional at all, and this DVD lets you experience it the device it should be seen (and in the company of wild-man John Landis!)

This is one of the few movies that have consistently given me nightmares since I was a child. It is at least a decade ahead of its time. Most of the negative criticisms that I have read utilize the word “uneven” a lot. Even Roger Ebert, whom I cherish, claimed that the humor and the scare were an uneasy mix. This was years before he gave the movie Yell a certain review. Now I LIKE the movie Yowl, but there is no plan that one can claim that it gets the balance fair whereas Werewolf gets it imperfect. Bellow simply benefits from occurring in the cynical nineties - Werewolf suffers from being avant guard. .

The unique DVD has a few top-notch extras on it - especially a novel interview with Landis. Even after all these years, the film serene holds up. Unlike most films, I peep more things in it the more I behold. What, for instance, is up with the townsfolk of East Proctor and what is their relationship with the new werewolf? My guess - they brought it on themselves somehow. Maybe one of their fill ran over a gypsy and was cursed. Instead of killing the bloke, they all choose to conceal beneath the pentangle in The Slaughtered Lamb every paunchy moon.

I am recently returned from England and this movie is listed in Fodor’s as one of the films that best showcases London. I heartily agree. I visited the deplorable tube terminate at Tottenham Court Road and it peaceful looks distinguished the same as when the David made his destroy there. And as I walked, alone in the countryside, beneath the light of the tubby moon, I had to ask myself, “Am I crazy? ” Fortunately, I made it to the pub. There I waited, beneath the pentangle, for my friends to whisk me home.

So far I have the first three volumes of the series. Claymore’s storyline has gotten better and better with each one. After finishing the third volume a month ago, I opinion it had reached the apex of its wonderful position and action. I expected exquisite remarkable the same level for volume four. I was inferior.

Without getting into too many details to prevent spoilers to followers of this series, the storyline that was getting hot is now getting to be a raging furor. More revelations reach to light that leave you wondering how Clare is ever going to create it through this, as it seems impossible she will. Customary familiar faces acquire a return that I was more than blissful to discover again. Fresh faces are introduced that are extremely likable as well. Miria and Clare are favorites, but now Jean is up there too. I’m clear you all will like her too!

Buy,Download, Or Stream Claymore: Volume Four- The Rumors of War! Click HereThe converse acting continues to be nothing short of favorable, especially with the increase of action that is in this volume. The glowing artwork continues to exhibit in ample detail as you observe it. I know some may be indignant about it and call it blasphemy, but Claymore has surpassed Chubby Metal Alchemist in legendary set. The level of character development, plotline, action, emotion… it’s all there!

If I haven’t said it before, I will say it now: Claymore is a MUST explore. You won’t regret it.

P.S. To the inform actors, directors, and producers of Claymore both Japanese and American.. Support up the AWESOME work!

I enjoyed the development of the characters in this fourth volume of the position of six. The fight scenes were sharp as well. Also, the memoir line was continued in a functional and comprehensible manner. I was not initially sold on the series; however, as I purchased each additional volume, my attention was grabbed. It was all about the characters, battles internal and external, and the set development of well-behaved versus unfriendly. These formed a winning combination to design me into Volume 4 specifically and ultimately the other five in the series.

I too reflect, that the title “Urge Rotund Boy Hasten” is quite silly and very apropriate for the film. Let me, in response to another reviewers demand “who would pay money to glimpse a burly boy hasten? ” ask: who wouldn’t?

Buy,Download, Or Stream Run, Fatboy, Run! Click HereThe memoir is neither unique nor complicated. At their wedding, Simon Pegg’s character gets frosty feet and takes off without explanation, leaving his pregnant girlfriend slow. 5 years down the line he, now a fleshy, pathtic looser without the mone to pay the rent, realises that he actually left the appreciate of his life late that day. She has found a rich, blooming, athletic American played very well by Hank Azaria, and has no need for her weak fiance. So to net her assist, Pegg must compete against his American competitor in a marathon urge. Chaos and hilarity ensues.

Simon Pegg, who is nothing short of a silly genius, plays the gormless loser so joyously well, and adds to it his extraordinary sense of physical comedy. His American rival is in turn played expertly by Mr. Azaria, who somehow manages to represent a character that at the same time is absolutely charming, extraordinary, and thoroughly unlikeable. The always comic Dylan Moran adds his fill enthralling personae to the character Gordon, the best friend of Peggs character. Also a guest visit from Dinky Britains David Walliams, makes for a nice small surprise.

Buy,Download, Or Stream Run, Fatboy, Run! Click HereI’m not the biggest fan of director David Schwimmer, but I must admit that he’s done a decent job with this one. The find, scenery, production, and all the rest of it is also done quite well.

So in conclusion I’ll say, that while “Rush Corpulent Boy Race” is not in any intention fresh or moving, it does provide some solid laughs and is never dull. Definitely recommendable.

this movie was bittersweet and a laugh. to top it off, pegg’s character’s uphill battle with his commitmentphobe underachiever area is something to glance. as is his eye-catching facial expressions.

my firsthand experience with all the down-sides to running (and hiking) long distances may have swayed me to be biased in liking it. oh well, the fight scence between denny and his best friend was a laugh.

The predictions surrounding the ominous date of December 21st, 2012 are plentiful and often a bit “freaky”. This video is a delectable exception! We follow a personal skedaddle of discovery across the USA as Sharron Rose gets in her car in the Northwest forests and ventures cross-country (and across time!) through attractive scenery and fabulous scenarios. Her travels are punctuated with discussions traversing mostly outlandish - and Challenging - facts and theories based on runt known historical artifacts, used structures and writings of learned philosophers and religious adventurers. These well-respected scholars and writers instruct us to The Mysteries that have been “hidden”…which means that they simply have not been included in our mediocre educational system which typically focuses on the generic and mundane. After my first viewing, I immediately watched it again as it was filled with so worthy novel information, I wanted to remove more time to both understand these extraordinary revelations and to let the beauty of the determined options for our collective future presented “sink in”. The quality of the film was outstanding and I fell in like with our guide Sharron. Having viewed MANY dvds featuring 2012 possibilities, I say this one is by far the best, especially for those who are objective discovering the 2012 “prophecies”. If there was ONE dvd on the 2012 phenomena to watch/buy…this is it!

For anyone who is deeply concerned about the future of the planet, I highly recommend this film.

Writer/director Sharron Rose, went out on a quest for the meaning and import underlying the prophesies around the year 2012. She interviewed many of the leading writers and experts on the subject and brought together their knowledge in a very deep and animated draw, for they spoke of the profound changes that are coming for all of us from an incandescent, spiritual and practical perspective. Whereas many of these type of documentaries focus on the panic factor, while it does not skirt the issues that are in front of us, 2012 The Odyssey puts them in a larger historical context and shows us that even though things may seem shaded and chaotic, there is light at the demolish of the tunnel and we need not despair. In fact, it is a very kind and hopeful film.

In addition to the advantageous interviews, towards the slay, the film unveils the message of the mysterious Georgia Guidestones. Probably built by the Masons, or could it be the Illuminati or Unusual World Order, this Stonehenge like monument offers a message for the future that is both evil and inviting. As Sharron says, this message which is like some fresh beget of the Ten Commandments certainly gives one a lot to consider about.

From the depth of the interviews, to the meeting with the Inka Elders and their prophesy that a recent species is being birthed, to the conception of the noosphere and the teachings of Teilhard de Charden, this film is packed burly of juicy information. I have watched it many times now with friends and family and every time I learn something unusual.

After waiting so long to survey some of these gargantuan films in widescreen DVD, it is a major disappointment to scrutinize the quality of the transfers in this collection. As another reviewer has celebrated, Naked Spur is not proper and Cheyenne Social Club looks like the entire film was transferred out of focus. Outrageous bit rate to construct two features fit on the (two sided) DVD? Who knows. Hard to maintain the source material is marred in this contrivance. I bought the collection; Cheyenne and Firecreek are available on their believe as a two-disc location that may or may not be better. I’ve seen Warner features 30 years older that gawk great better. Shame on you Time Warner.

No Hollywood star ever ‘reinvented’ himself as successfully as Jimmy Stewart, from the idealistic, ‘Aw, Shucks’ boy-next-door of the Golden Age, to the intense, driven loner of the Mann and Hitchcock films of the 50s, to everybody’s approved ‘father figure’ of the 60s and 70s…this collection, while certainly not his best films of the 1940s-1960s, offers one bonafide ‘classic’ (”The Naked Spur”), and five other titles definitely worth owning!
Buy,Download, Or Stream James Stewart - The Signature Collection! Click Here
“The Stratton Chronicle” (1949) - 6′4″ Stewart and 5′1″ June Allyson are so ‘natural’ together in their three films (they also made “The Glenn Miller Record” and “Strategic Air Lisp”), that you might honestly believe they were married in genuine life! Based on a just myth, of baseball pitcher Monty Stratton, who miraculously returned to the game after losing his leg in a hunting accident, it’s the chemistry between the stars that makes this film work so well. Stewart has the will to effect a comeback, but Allyson provides the ‘heart’ to earn the dream possible. An luscious film, particularly for baseball fans (who may gather Stewart’s pitching style a bit ’strange’, even when he had both legs!)

“The Naked Spur” (1953) - Arguably, the best of Stewart’s teamings with director Anthony Mann, in an outdoor saga of reward-driven Stewart attempting to bring in affable (but heinous) outlaw Robert Ryan (who called this one of his current roles) . Complicating matters is Ryan’s devoted girlfriend (Janet Leigh, who was never lovelier), a crusty prospector (Millard Mitchell), and a sleazy ex-soldier (Ralph Meeker, who is suited) . The backdrop of the Rockies is breathtaking, the tension, as Ryan manipulates everyone against Stewart, never lets up, and the finale is spectacular.
Buy,Download, Or Stream James Stewart - The Signature Collection! Click Here

Certainly, the best film of the collection!

“The Spirit of St. Louis” (1957) - People are often surprised to examine this Charles Lindbergh biography was directed by Billy Wilder! An almost documentary-style recounting of the events leading to Lindbergh’s solo flight across the Atlantic, in 1927, Stewart was Plan too old-fashioned in the lead (at 49, portraying the 25-year former pilot), but he projects so grand sincerity in the role that you can almost forget his age. While the film is a bit dry, it does offer a attractive survey at a barnstorming pilot with a dream…

“The FBI Epic” (1959) - Produced with the cooperation (and supervision) of J. Edgar Hoover and the Federal Bureau of Investigation, don’t put a question to to win any of the skeletons in the closet of either the agency, or it’s megalomaniac and kinky director, but an racy epic of the growth of the bureau, seen through the eyes of lifelong agent Stewart. Bulky of celebrated cases (and a healthy dose of patriotism and anti-Communist rhetoric, as well), the glossy production was one of Stewart’s most current films, and has some unforgettable moments (as he takes on the KKK, the ‘Most Wanted’ 30s gangsters, and the Nazis) …

“Firecreek” (1968) - Any chance to notice lifelong best friends Stewart and Henry Fonda working together is worth owning, and this offbeat western is an scrumptious showcase of the stars. Erudite badman Fonda and his gang hole up in a diminutive town, as pacifist part-time lawman Stewart tries to avoid bloodshed. The tension builds, nicely, as the gang terrorizes his community, and Stewart’s helplessness builds to infuriate. The resolution is worth the lifeless buildup, but this is a film you HAVE to be patient with…

“The Cheyenne Social Club” (1970) - Directed by Gene Kelly, the last Stewart/Fonda teaming is a hilarious romp, about aging cowpoke Stewart ‘inheriting’ a bordello. Buddy Fonda tags along to fragment in Jimmy’s apt fortune, and is amazed that his friend wants to SELL the plot! Costarring Shirley Jones as a hooker “with a heart of gold” and a desire to decide down with Jimmy, the tone is light, the performances beneficial, and the humor very titanic. While the box office wasn’t huge (people seemed to abominate seeing Jimmy in this kind of film), the movie is gigantic fun, and Stewart and Fonda seemed to have a ball, making it!

All in all, this collection is certainly worth investing your money to assume!

I bought this DVD because it had my all-time popular episode, “High Tea” on it, which features Celtic music and a cramped Irish dancing. Polka Palace Party is a very conclude second, though. The creators of Backyardigans withhold getting better by combining creative adventures for the 5 friends with terrific song and dance numbers. The clarity of the video is so obvious it’s almost 3-D.

This is one of 27 sets of four movie packs that Warner Home Video plans to release in the next few years. Their purpose is to introduce classic film to people previously unaware of these films via very affordable bare bones versions of these movies. This spot has four very obliging films, all featuring Katharine Hepburn.
Woman of the Year (1941) - The film that introduced Katharine Hepburn and Spencer Tracy and sparked a long relationship both on and offscreen. Here Hepburn plays an early feminist who goes around collecting causes. Spencer Tracy is the sportswriter that loves her. They marry, but things go downhill posthaste since Kate is really already married to her causes.
Buy,Download, Or Stream TCM Greatest Classic Films Collection: Romantic Comedies! Click Here
Adam’s Rib (1951) - Ten years have passed and Hepburn and Tracy have ragged a bit, but the spark and the chemistry is unexcited there. This time the pair are married lawyers. He is a prosecutor and she a defense attorney. Problems arise when Hepburn defends a woman who shot her husband when she caught him cheating on her and Tracy is the prosecuting attorney in the same case.

Bringing Up Baby (1938) - One of the new screwball comedies. Stars Cary Grant as an anthropologist who gets mixed up with a very dizzy young woman played by Hepburn. The region involves a tame leopard - Baby - and a dinosaur bone buried by a dog - the real whereabouts are unknown.
Buy,Download, Or Stream TCM Greatest Classic Films Collection: Romantic Comedies! Click Here

The Philadelphia Yarn (1940) - Reteams Katharine Hepburn and Cary Grant as a divorced pair of socialites. Hepburn’s character is about to marry a man of the people who pulled himself up by his bootstraps, and also happens to be one of the most annoying people who has ever lived. James Stewart oddly won a Best Actor award for what is essentially a supporting role. It is especially exclusive when you contemplate about all of the other substantial performances in which he was the undisputed lead and he wasn’t even nominated.

The only drawback to this status is that - if you want all the extras - you might want to contemplate Classic Comedies Collection (Bringing Up Baby / The Philadelphia Anecdote Two-Disc Special Edition / Dinner at Eight / Libeled Lady / Stage Door / To Be or Not to Be) in the case of Bringing Up Baby and The Philadelphia Record. Hepburn and Tracy fans might want to assume The Hepburn & Tracy Signature Collection (Woman of the Year / Pat and Mike / Adam’s Rib / The Spencer Tracy Legacy) . However, both of these sets are considerably more expensive than this basic four-pack, and crude cost is really the point of this residence in the first status.

TCM (Turner Classic Movies) could not have chosen four better examples of classic golden-era romantic comedies, and it’s no coincidence that Katharine Hepburn stars in all four. At the same time, it makes you wonder why they simply didn’t call this DVD spot the Katharine Hepburn Romantic Comedy Collection. After all, there’s an equally reasonable case to include classics from the likes of Carole Lombard, Irene Dunne or Rosalind Russell. To allow for the bargain sign offered, the four films are presented on two double-sided discs. The print conditions are gratefully tidy for the most portion.

Director Howard Hawks, a master of this genre as well as many others, guided 1938’s Bringing Up Baby (*****) and catches Hepburn and Cary Grant at their zenith in buoyant comical energy and youthful vigor. Amazingly, this wacky 1938 screwball classic was her first actual foray into farcical comedy, and she makes her exasperating character Susan Vance the definitive madcap heiress. Cross-pollinating the pratfall wackiness of Lucille Ball with the Fifth Avenue glamour of Carole Lombard, Hepburn filters it all through her braying, haughty Recent England manner. Grant is her perfect match as David Huxley, the befuddled, bespectacled paleontologist, who aptly describes his inadvertent relationship with Susan as “a series of misadventures from beginning to ruin”. Together, they maintain up with the breathless journey Hawks sets with a hair-brained site engaging an elusive research grant, a pet leopard that can only be soothed by one song (”I Can’t Give You Anything But Adore, Baby”), a roguish dog with a yen for a missing intercostal clavicle (i.e., a dinosaur bone) and a gallery of comical character actors who develop the mistake of trying to invent sense of all the shenanigans. The archaic supporting cast is incomparably stellar, in particular, May Robson as no-nonsense Aunt Elizabeth, Charlie Ruggles as the likeably pompous Major Horace Applegate and Walter Catlett as the perennially confused Constable Slocum. With the crack timing of the comedy, the movie is filled with improbable witness gags, and the fascinating script (written by Dudley Nichols and Hagar Wilde) has an abundance of clever lines and witty asides. Director Peter Bogdanovich, who paid tribute to this film with his partial remake, What’s Up, Doc?, provides insightful commentary on an alternate track.

Hepburn was born to play imperious Main Line socialite Tracy Lord in 1940’s The Philadelphia Legend (*****) . On the eve of her second marriage, Tracy is surrounded by three men who lay claim to her. With whom she ends up is no surprise, but the trot there contains all the biting wit and human insight that one could hope for in what is essentially a drawing room comedy. As Tracy’s ex-husband, the pretentiously named C.K. Dexter Haven, Grant plays the most grounded character in the record, a romantic in cynic’s clothing, watching others regain caught in the alarm of commitment and a gauzy haze of indecision. As the third point, a young and refreshingly cynical James Stewart portrays Macauley “Mike” Connor, a tabloid reporter covering Tracy’s nuptials. Connor turns out to be a talented author, which Tracy finds immediately beautiful. What is so refreshing about this triangle is that it never reduces itself to some audacious duel to gain the damsel. In fact, both men have understandable reservations about Tracy’s high-and-mighty stance and her inability to tolerate others’ weaknesses. Further complications ensue with Mike’s unspoken relationship with Liz Imbrie, his smart-mouthed photographer sidekick who of course, pines for him. As you can imagine, it all ties up beautifully, and all these complications approach through with a broad deal of humanity thanks to the astounding, sometimes surprisingly edgy dialogue in Philip Barry’s modern play and Donald Ogden Stewart’s cloak adaptation. It is heavenly to say that the rest of the cast is sparkling but overshadowed by the three pleasurable and fully embodied leads. A major section of the credit for this first-class production needs to go to superior filmmaker George Cukor, who is completely in his element here guiding his players to their peak. There is an informative albeit rather fervent commentary by film historian and critic Jeannine Basinger.

Having already established the headstrong aspect of her cover persona, Hepburn added a worldly intellect and beguiling sexual ardor in her portrayal of multilingual political journalist Tess Harding in 1942’s Woman of the Year (****) directed by George Stevens. In her first teaming with lifelong off-screen partner Spencer Tracy, she sets off palpable sparks with the normally taciturn actor, who plays sportswriter Sam Craig working at the same newspaper. Written by Ring Lardner Jr. and Michael Kanin, the region is about the characters’ whirlwind courtship from an immediate sexual attraction to an impulsive marriage, all the while struggling with each other’s priorities. Needless to say, given that it’s a product of its era, it becomes a matter of time before Tess bends to Sam’s will but not until some engrossing observations are made about sex roles in a basically fractious relationship. However, rather than the silly fireworks generated by their later collaborations, this film treads in unexpectedly sentimental melodrama, especially in the episodes where Tess has to let go of a Greek orphan she wants to adopt and in the climactic scene when she tearfully recognizes her wifely responsibilities as her aunt Ellen marries her father. Collected, the pair’s familiar bantering occurs when Sam explains the rules of baseball to Tess and in the final feminist reversal as she fails miserably in her attempt at domesticity. Intriguingly, for a Tracy-Hepburn vehicle, it feels mighty more like her movie than his, and consequently their rapport is not quite up to their normal standard here.

Seven years into their hide partnership, Tracy and Hepburn made what is arguably their best disaster together, 1949’s Adam’s Rib (*****), the sixth of nine movies they made together. The zingy repartee and old-shoe comfort in their relationship are in fleshy bloom here as directed by Cukor. Written by the legendary husband and wife writing team of Garson Kanin and Ruth Gordon, the spot focuses on a headline-grabbing court case consuming Doris Attinger, a dim-witted wife who shoots her philandering husband Warren unprejudiced as he is caught with his blowsy mistress Beryl Caighn. Representing the wounded husband is Assistant DA Adam Bonner who is looking for a hasty conviction of the wife. However, his proto-feminist attorney wife Amanda sees the alleged crime as an act of justifiable defiance and decides to defend the wife. This potentially tense set-up leads to a trial where Amanda sets out to reveal that a double standard exists for women and that Doris was merely defending her family and home. Adam, however, believes that the law is the law no matter the gender of those fervent and that a abolish was indeed attempted. Consequently, the sage is not so powerful about Adam’s inherent sexism as it is about Amanda’s single-minded determination to point to her point even as the case degrades into a media sideshow. Hepburn plays such a convincing litigator that her case actually sounds persuasive at times, and Tracy brings his fresh combination of sympathy and combustible bluster to a man who respects his wife deeply but becomes increasingly disillusioned with her unlawful stance. As Doris, Judy Holliday delivers in her first indispensable hide role, bringing a deeper pathos to the scorned wife than you would examine. Tom Ewell plays Warren for the smarmy, sexist cheater that he is, while Jean Hagen expertly plays Beryl as a media-hungry floozy. As the Bonners’ next door neighbor Kip, David Wayne acts rather fey for someone who supposedly wants to speed away with Amanda, but I grunt the come was intentional to ensure nothing would really threaten the Bonner marriage except the case. However dated some of the sexual politics feel, the film is unruffled one of the most smartly played of romantic comedies.

I agree with Hawthorne, FL … he’s lawful on the money. The 4-star rating is for the movie not for the DVD quality. My jam with the reviews of this film is that Amazon has listed all the reviews underneath all the copies of this film. I have to seize it has fallen into public domain because there are many releases under various cheapo labels. I’d like to witness the reviews appear against the specific versions/copies of the film so we can secure a better understanding of which ones have the better prints. We know from other public domain titles that some of these are going to be OK and others will be a chore to explore. The reviewer from Hingham, MA says his print is so unlit as to be almost unusable. I wonder which one he was talking about? It’s a shame that these rapidly buck artists are muddying the water by putting out DVDs that are in worse shape than most VHS tape versions. How about it Amazon? Is there some plan you can let us know which ones to go with if we want to gawk the best prints? I’m not buying this one because there’s a chance it’s money wasted. If you can point me towards a decent print I’ll gladly give you my business.

I’ll agree with some of the reviews about the movie being a runt cornball.Buy,Download, Or Stream Gung Ho! Click HereCol. Carlson was sent to China by our government as an observer. He was not a Communist as implied. The Chinese term “Gung Ho” is mild primitive by people in our military today. Remember, China and Russia were allies of ours in World War II. My high school coach was an observer with the Russian Army and he was no Communist.President Roosevelt’s son James was executive officer of Carlson’s Raiders and a great Marine. The Raiders were no more blood thirsty than any other Marine with a rifle in combat in WWII.I would have liked to seen more of the training the Raiders went through.
